Jerry Kurniadi Lumelle, who currently serves as Deputy Chair of the National Food Genta Daily and also Chair of the ASEAN Embassy for the One Belt, One Road initiative, is known as a visionary leader in the field of food and national security. As the initiator of the National Food Independence Farmers' Movement, Jerry has a big mission to accelerate Indonesia's food sovereignty through an approach that prioritizes the welfare of farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen throughout the country. This movement aims to make the agricultural sector a strong foundation for independent, fair and sustainable national food security.
Jerry views that food independence is not only about high production, but also about creating an ecosystem that supports all elements in the food chain—from farmers to final consumers. To realize this vision, he emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration involving various parties, including millennial generation youth who have a spirit of innovation and concern for the environment. Jerry believes that the active involvement of the younger generation will bring new ideas in efficient, sustainable and digital-based agricultural technology and practices.
As Chair of the ASEAN Embassy in the One Belt, One Road initiative, Jerry also plays an important role in building international relations that can support Indonesia's achievement of food independence. Through diplomacy and cross-border cooperation, he hopes to expand access to technology and knowledge in the agricultural sector, so that Indonesian farmers can more easily adopt advanced agricultural techniques that are more efficient and environmentally friendly.
With Jerry Kurniadi Lumelle's great vision and commitment in the National Food Independence Farmers' Movement, it is hoped that a synergy will be created that will be able to advance farmers' welfare, increase quality food production, and ultimately make Indonesia an independent country in terms of food security.
